QUEENSTOWN-TE ANAU - MILFORD SOUND - 22/3/2012

Itinerary hari ini adalah ke Milford Sound.  Saya telah beli tiket online dengan nakedbus dan dapat harga promotion 119nzd seorang.  Kalau harga biasa range dari 135-150nzd seorang. Dapat lah jugak jimat beli online ni.  Kalau dah sampai disana pun byk tempat yang menjual package ke mana-mana destinasi yang kita hendak pergi.  Lebih kurang pukul 7.20am bas pun datang dan kami bertolak ke Milford Sound. Perjalanan lebih kurang 3 jam tetapi kami akan berhenti dibeberapa buah tempat untuk breakfast dan juga ke toilet.

Pemandangan sepanjang perjalanan. Gambar kurang memuaskan sebab diambil didalam bas (malas nak edit hahaha)

Disini kalau drive pun selamat je sbb tak byk kereta.  Kalau sewa campervan ni best dan banyak jimatnya

Teruskan lagi perjalanan..

Dalam perjalanan dari Queenstown ke Milford, banyak tempat menarik yang boleh dilawati, salah satu adalah Mirror Lake

Selepas Mirror Lake, kita sambung lagi perjalanan. Tak ingat apa nama tempat ini tapi diatas gunung tersebut kita dapat lihat ianya dilitupi glacier.

Glacier tersebut akan cair dan jatuh kekaki gunung

Akhirnya jatuh seperti air terjun yang cantik ini.  Lihatlah warna airnya yang cantik dan jernih.  Air ini boleh diminum terus tanpa perlu dirawat

Akhirnya sampai di Homer Tunnel.  Tunnel ini menyambungkan Te-Anau ke Milford Sound. 

The Homer Tunnel is a road tunnel in the Fiordland region of the South Island of New Zealand, opened in 1954. New Zealand State Highway 94 passes through the tunnel, linking Milford Sound to Te Anau and Queenstown, by piercing the Main Divide at the Homer Saddle.^[1] It connects between the valley of the Eglinton and Hollyford Rivers to the east and that of the Cleddau to the west.

The tunnel is straight and was originally single-lane and gravel-surfaced. The tunnel walls remain unlined granite. The east portal end is at 945 m elevation; the tunnel runs 1270 m at approximately a 1:10 gradient down to the western portal.^[2] Until it was sealed and enlarged it was the longest gravel-surfaced tunnel in the world

Milford Sound (Piopiotahi in Māori) is a fjord in the south west of New Zealand's South Island, within Fiordland National Park, Piopiotahi (Milford Sound) Marine Reserve, and the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage site. It has been judged the world's top travel destination in an international survey (the 2008 Travelers' Choice Destinations Awards by TripAdvisor)^[1][2] and is acclaimed as New Zealand's most famous tourist destination.^[3] Rudyard Kipling had previously called it the eighth Wonder of the World.^[4]

Kami akan menaiki bot lebih kurang pukul 2.30pm dan seterusnya menikmati keindahan Milford Sound.

Tamat perjalanan satu hari ke Milford Sound. Kami bertolak dari Milford Sound lebih kurang pukul 4.30pm dan dijangka akan sampai ke Queenstown pukul 7.30pm. Esok kami akan jalan-jalan ke Arrowtown pekan koboi
